ACNEM exhibits at GP11 and the 17th Annual AIMA Conference in October
ACNEM recently attended the RACGP's annual conference, GP11, held in Hobart from 6-8 October. We also attended the AIMA Integrative Medicine Conference held in Manly last weekend from 14-16 October. It was great to catch up with friends and colleagues and to represent ACNEM at these events. At both events, ACNEM gave delegates the opportunity to go into the draw to win a complimentary registration to attend the Primary Course in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. We're pleased to say that both winners were thrilled with their prizes. GP11 and AIMA

2nd Nutrition in Medicine Conference announced

Good news! ACNEM, the Food and Nutritional Sciences Division of the CSIRO, and the Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA) are proud to announce the 2nd International Conference on the Science of Nutrition in Medicine and Healthcare, to be held at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne, from 4-6 May, 2012.

The inaugural conference held at the Swiss-Grand at Bondi Beach in May 2011 was a sell-out success with 440 people attending over the three days. Feedback from speakers, delegates, abstract presenters and sponsors confirmed that the event was of the highest international standard, and that the time is right for an annual meeting bringing together the expertise of the medical, nutritional and scientific communities in Australia and New Zealand.

The themes of the 2012 conference will be Gastrointestinal Metabolism, Mood & Anxiety Disorders, and Hormonal Regulation & Modulation, once again reflecting important areas in primary healthcare and scientific research. Frontiers in science and clinical application in each of the theme areas will also be presented in the pre-conference Epigenetics & Nutrigenomics workshop.

Once again, an impressive line-up of recognised leaders in science, research and clinical application will be invited from Australia, New Zealand and overseas to explore the conference themes and their inter-relationship, along with key public health, political and industry figures. There will also be co-ordinated media exposure leading up to the event.

In keeping with the high profile of the conference, Dr Norman Swan, of the ABC Health Report, will return as Master of Ceremonies and to facilitate the panel discussions.

We extend a warm invitation to join us at what we believe will be an informative, intellectually challenging, and clinically important event.

Prof Michael Fenech, Research Group Leader, CSIRO
Dr Karel Hromek, President, ACNEM
Prof Manohar Garg, President, NSA
