Ron WEB2018

Dr Ron Ehrlich

Dr Ron Ehrlich is one of Australia's leading holistic health practitioners and holistic dentists. In 1983 he co-founded the Sydney Holistic Dental Centre and has developed a patient-centred practice and approach to healthcare. He is qualified in nutritional medicine, pain management and, of course, holistic dentistry.

In 2008 he co-founded Nourishing Australia, a not-for profit organisation dedicated to educating and inspiring people about the critical importance of nourishing our soils, water, plants, animals, people, communities and ultimately our planet.

From 2013-2015 Dr. Ron also co-founded and co-hosted an award winning weekly health podcast, called “The Good Doctor’s – healthcare unplugged”, with the 150 episodes forming an inspiring catalogue of holistic health resources. 


Dr Kamal Karl 

Dr Karl is the director of the Wellness Centre in Napier and Auckland, New Zealand. The Wellness Centre specialises in treating chronic illness with an Integrative and Functional Medical approach. 

Dr Karl is a Fellow and Executive Board member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and a Fellow of the Indian Nutritional Medicine Association. He is also a Fellow of the NZ College of General Practitioners. He is also the joint President of the New Zealand Society of Integrative Medicine. He is currently on the International Editorial Panel of the International Journal, “Clinical Interventions in Aging”. In addition he is a Member of the Institute of Functional Medicine and a Member of the International Hormone Society.

Dr Karl has been practising Functional Medicine for the last 20 years and is a regular speaker and educator at international conferences. In 2014 he was awarded the best practising Asian Professional in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

Nadine 2018

Dr Nadine Perlen 

Dr Perlen graduated from medicine at Monash University, Melbourne in 1990. She completed her RACGP Fellowship in 1994 before moving to Perth in 1995 where she joined the Lockridge Medical Centre. Nadine began her training with ACNEM in 1995 and was surprised by how many pieces of the health puzzle this new training provided.

Since then, she has maintained her interest in integrative medicine and now incorporates NEM into all her patient care and teaching. Her particular interest is in the area of the gut and microbiome and how this impacts on all other areas of health. In 2009, Nadine was awarded the RACGP National GP Supervisor of the Year award, and in 2017 Dr Perlen and her team, were recognized as ‘Training Facility of the Year 2017’, receiving the West Australian General Practice Education and Training (WAGPT) Award.

Nadine has a strong integrative focus and a passion for teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising and mentoring medical students and GP registrars.  Nadine also regularly travels to rural Western Australia with the Royal Flying Doctor Service for a women's health clinic.

She joined the ACNEM Education Committee and Board in 2016 and is the current chair of the Education Committee.  She continues to be involved in practicing and teaching general practice and NEM to medical students, doctors and other health practitioners.


Dr Christabelle Yeoh 
MB BS, MRCP, MSc (Nut)

Dr Yeoh graduated from medicine at the University of London in 1999 and has obtained her membership with the Royal College of Physicians (UK). She has a Masters degree in Nutrition from King’s College London. After practicing hospital medicine, she worked as a physician in the field of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. She is a member of the American and British Academies of Environmental Medicine where she received her further NEM training. She moved to Australia in 2012 and is now working as a medical practitioner at Invitation to Health, where nutritional medicine is integrated with preventive health care and general practice. She has also been dedicated to developing NEM training for the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and is on the teaching faculty. She has a strong clinical interest in neurological, gastrointestinal and metabolic health. She is passionate about teaching on the interconnectedness of human metabolism, biology and behaviour. 

Tracy WEB2018

Dr Tracy Chandler

Dr Tracy Chandler completed a Biochemistry degree and then her primary medical training in England. This gave her a more in-depth knowledge of the human body than most Doctors are required to know.  She then worked as a General Practitioner in Timaru before doing further post-graduate training in Sports and Integrative Medicine and Nutrition. Her decision to specialise in Integrative Medicine evolved through her experience as a GP and her increasing awareness of the impact of nutrition and environment on an individual’s health and well-being. In addition she firmly believes in the power of the Mind-Body link and our ability to heal ourselves.


Joanne 2018

Joanne Ford

Joanne graduated with a BComm degree in 1989 and qualified as an ACMA, CGMA with CIMA UK in 1997. She moved to Australia in 2001 and has since gained executive experience in high-growth start-ups and listed multinationals in Australia and the USA.  Having worked in the FMCG, Trade, Retail, Online and Telecommunications sectors, Joanne has acquired skills in strategy, finance, information technology and systems, and risk management. She is passionate about contributing in her special interests of nutritional and environmental medicine, and education.  She joined the board and FARM Committee in April 2018.

Caryl WEB2018

Caryl Hertz
Board of Directors

Caryl Hertz is an experienced Industry Engagement Manager, skilled in Customer Centric Strategic Planning, Leadership and Management including Change Management, Marcomms and Industry Engagement with strong Stakeholder Relationship Management and Communication skills 

She has had varied experiences and opportunities both in Australia and internationally and has also published as case editor through McGraw Hill a book on Consumer Behaviour and served on the board of the Australian Chamber of International Trade. Her qualifications cover a variety of disciplines including Commerce, Marketing, Education, Management and post-graduate qualifications in Public Relations and Personnel Management.

Caryl’s work experiences has spanned across a number of industries in leadership and management roles. On many occasions, she been invited to develop, participate and present Marketing programs in Singapore, China and the USA, including developing initiatives to Professional Associations and Chinese delegations. Further to this, Caryl participated in collaborative stakeholder/Industry Engagement opportunities with Professional Institutes, Universities and the Corporate Sector both locally and internationally and has presented papers at conferences on innovation, stakeholder engagement and education in Australia and the USA.
