ACNEM Education

ACNEM offers Education in NEM, providing industry-based recognition of training and specialty.

The Certification in NEM Part 1 & 2 are open to graduate healthcare practitioners who meet Ordinary and Associate Membership requirements and can adequately apply Nutritional and Environmental Medicine principles within their practice.  The ACNEM Fellowship is open to Ordinary Members (doctors and dentists).

The ACNEM Primary Modules in NEM are the first requirement for the ACNEM Education.

Certification in NEM - Part 1

The Certification in NEM - Part 1 is the starting point and foundation 
of ACNEM’s Education, providing the basis of post-graduate nutritional and environmental medicine. The Certification in NEM - Part 1 requires completion of four modules; Primary Modules 1&2 are compulsory and the additional two modules can be selected from the list of available modules.

Certification in NEM - Part 2

The Certification in NEM - Part 2 is designed to provide you with an in-depth knowledge of nutritional and environmental medicine. It is comprised of the Certification in NEM - Part 1 plus an additional four modules. The Certification in NEM - Part 2 will provide you with the knowledge and experience required to confidently incorporate nutritional and environmental medicine into your clinical practice and will broaden and build on your existing understanding of NEM.

Fellowship in NEM

The ACNEM Fellowship is the highest level of ACNEM Education and is only available to practising doctors and dentists. The Fellowship is comprised of the Certification in NEM - Part 2 plus an additional four modules. The ACNEM Fellowship is aimed to equip you with the complete knowledge and experience required to expertly practise in nutritional and environmental medicine.

Other requirements for ACNEM Education

  1. Enrolment and Administration Fee
    An enrolment and administration fee of $990 is payable upon enrolment in ACNEM Education and then every six months until completion.
  2. Assessment
    Each learning module undertaken as part of ACNEM Education will require the successful completion of online assessment consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions.
  3. Case Studies
    Each level requires the completion of a 1500-word Case Study written to publication standard.
  4. Practice Log
    Participants are required to submit a practice log, indicating the time spent with patients applying the principles of NEM.  Each level requires a specific number of hours logged.
  5. Reinforcing Content
    Each level requires a certain number of NEM credit points, which can be obtained in a number of ways.
