Healthy Debate: Carnivores VS Vegans
Register NowHave you ever wondered why some people are pro-plant-based nutrition while others seem to be doing so well on a predominantly animal-based diet? We brought in Australian experts to debate this exact topic!
Carnivores VS Vegans was the inaugural event of acnem’s new online event series Healthy Debate: where evidence meets curiosity for the health of every body. These dynamic and lively online events are designed for medical and health practitioners, as well as patients who are interested in empowering themselves to understand more about health and wellbeing.
This event was in the form of a literal debate – the art of debating goes back centuries and is a way for those holding opposing views to discuss controversial issues and present evidence-based perspectives. It is a fun and engaging way to further our knowledge on a topic.
Co-hosted by acnem Board Members Dr Shamistra Barathan and Martin Gillespie, our first Healthy Debate featured two perspectives that couldn’t sit further at the end of the diet spectrum from each other. It was an epic ‘battle’ of information!
Each team member had 7 minutes to pitch their argument, and after both sides presented their perspectives, the audience got to vote on which team made the most compelling argument.
