This brand new module will explore the impact of exercise on health as well as outline how nutritional medicine can be used to optimise exercise performance. Our highly experiences and specialised presenters will bring their clinical experience and knowledge to provide you with comprehensive clinical recommendations.  This course is run over two days. On completion of the training, the pre- and post-training activities and quiz, a Certificate of Completion is awarded.

FOCUS POINTS

  • The interplay between gut health, sport performance and the impact of sport and exercise on the microbiome, intestinal barrier and immunity
  • The role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and its application in clinical practice
  • The role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of cancer
  • Individual guidance on diet and nutritional supplements for athletic performance, including hydration, macro and micro nutrients
  • The unique nutritional requirements of female athletes at different stages of life
  • Nutritional approach for prevention, assessment and treatment of muscluo-skeletal injury in sport
  • The effect of exercise on pathological test results, including haematology and biochemistry
