Climate Change and Dermatology: Recovery From Skin Issues Related to Extreme Weather Events Wednesday 26th May, 7PM AEST

Climate change influences the frequency, magnitude and impacts of many types of extreme weather and climate events.* As practitioners, we need to be at the forefront of understanding how this impacts our patients health, and what we can do to help.

This webinar provides an overview of dermatological conditions caused by climate change.

It discusses the four pillars of health (nutrition/diet, physical activity, sleep, environmental factors) and their importance in restoring skin health after extreme weather events such as floods and bushfire.

It introduces predictive markers and assessment needs and provides nutritional and phytotherapeutic strategies to recover and restore health.

We are excited to have Professor Michael Tirant, the founder and Principal Practitioner at the Psoriasis Eczema Clinic and Research Centre in Melbourne, to discuss the following:

  • An overview of climate change and its impact on dermatological health
  • How to make a clinical assessment of skin health caused by climate exposure
  • What the predictive markers are
  • And how nutrition, physical activity, sleep and environmental factors play a role in dermatological recovery after extreme weather exposure
