Dr Michelle Woolhouse



Dr Woolhouse has an in-depth understanding of the underlying cause of diseases and in the healing principles of the body from an energetic, biochemical and structural level as well as a psychological, spiritual and emotional level.  She obtained her medical degree from Monash University in 1996, and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner’s (RACGP). Dr Woolhouse is also a fellow of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (acnem) and the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and holds post graduate qualifications in hypnotherapy, acupuncture and a post grad dip. mind-body medicine (Swinburne university)

Dr Michelle Woolhouse founded Whole Medicine an integrative clinic in 2009 on the Mornington Peninsula. The clinic was based on the philosophy is that health addresses the whole spectrum of a person’s life emotional, physical, mental and environment. She sold the business in 2020 to pursue her dream of writing a book. The book, “The wonder within…a playbook for the anxious”  is due for release in 2022.

Michelle is passionate about education and has recently joined the Fx-Medicine team as one of their new hosts of the Fx medicine podcast. She is currently also the founding medical director of “Vively” a health tech company, who aims to bring lifestyle and integrative medicine to millions of people, using AI and machine learning technology.

Dr Woolhouse is a frequent lecturer and mentor for GP registrars and doctors and a founding board member of the working party between the RACGP and Australasian Integrative Medicine Association.

She served on the acnem board for 6 years from 2011 until 2017. Michelle has authors 4 articles for the AFP, reviewed 4 editions of Cohen and Braun’s the Herbs and Natural supplements and Kotsirilos, Sali, and Vitetta, Textbook of Integrative medicine. She has represented acnem on channel Ten ‘ The circle”.

Dr Woolhouse was founder and co-host of the award-winning health podcast, The Good Doctors and in 2019, was given the lifetime achievement award for services to integrative medicine by National Institute of Integrative Medicine.

In 2019 she teamed up with her colleague Caroline Hales (@carolinehales) to run incredible wellness retreats for women in collaboration with the Yarra valley Living Centre. “Teaching meditation, mindful movement, deep transformational process and self compassion is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done” says Dr Michelle

Her number one piece of advice to patients is: ‘everything in moderation even moderation itself’.

She loves surfing, watching her girls grow up, being the best person she can be and spending time in nature.
