Dr. Alla Turlakow

l am delighted and extremely honoured to be a recipient of the prestigious Brighthope Foundation Scholarship. I believe that in making their choice, Professor Brighthope and the committee, have recognized attributes that I am only just appreciating. These include my passion for the limitless ocean of science and art that is Integrative Medicine, my already unique overlapping connection with the biologic principles of root cause medicine through a career in the radio-labelling and magical imaging of these exact molecular processes, as well as my enthusiasm and placement to make this foundational knowledge more accessible to the general community. Through this opportunity, I hope also to increase awareness of evidence-based NEM concepts in the broader medical community, with the aim of effecting improved patient and community health, whilst also honouring the remarkable legacy of Professor Ian Brighthope.

Dr. Joel Wren

I am so appreciative to be one of this year’s recipients of the Brighthope Foundation Scholarship in order to continue my journey in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (NEM). I am delighted to be able to gain further skills in supporting my patients in a more natural, holistic manner. No doubt the last few years have highlighted many unmet needs in the community, and NEM provides a unique chance to fill these gaps. As a fellow of the RACGP, I relish this opportunity to harmonise the conventional approach with the innovative strategies presented by ACNEM professionals. All resources that I have utilised so far have been of the highest quality, and I am excited to attain fellowship in the future.

Dr. Senani Wijesena

It is a great pleasure to receive the runner up Brighthope Foundation Scholarship. This opportunity will allow me to complete my Fellowship with ACNEM. I have been practising as an Integrative Medicine Practitioner since 2006, working in my own general practice in Sydney as well as group practices such as Your Health and The Health Lodge in Byron Bay. My passion is prevention and Wellness Medicine and I also have an interest in Nutrition, Women's Health, Gastrointestinal health, autoimmune disease and Mental well-being. I believe education is vital in keeping up to date as well as providing the best service to the community. My aim is to create a community in the future who can maintain optimum health and well-being and can heal themselves. Knowledge and application is a key to this. I am grateful that I pass some of this knowledge to the public and be a part of this vision. Thank you to Professor lan Brighthope and the team at ACNEM for this wonderful opportunity.
