Dr. James Read & Dr. Elizabeth Steels

In long COVID, medical practitioners embark on a quest to unravel the complexities of enduring symptoms following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Spearheading this investigative journey is the National Institutes of Health-sponsored initiative, RECOVER: Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery, which orchestrates a concerted effort to comprehensively probe the basis of long COVID within a vast cohort. Characterized by a spectrum of chronic symptoms affecting various organ systems, post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) presents a multifaceted challenge for clinicians. Through this collaborative endeavour, doctors gain unprecedented insights into the diverse mechanisms underpinning long COVID symptoms, laying the groundwork for more targeted and holistic treatment approaches. By embracing this interdisciplinary exploration, physicians not only deepen their understanding of post-COVID conditions but also cultivate innovative protocols that address the individual needs of patients.

In this masterclass, Dr. James Read explores Managing Persistent SARS-CoV-2 Infection with a workshop alongside Dr. Elizabeth Steels. The course also includes the ACNEM Managing Persistent SARS-CoV-2 Infection, Co-infections, and Gut Persistence Protocol, providing an excellent resource for clinical application.
