MEET THE PRESENTERS

Dr. Christabelle Yeoh

MBBS, MRCP(UK), MSc(Nutr), FACNEM 
Christabelle is the Medical Director and a Medical Practitioner at Next Practice GenBiome – Edgecliff. Her work with patients focuses around optimising gut health, microbiome, mitochondrial and brain performance. She applies the premise that dysfunctions can be corrected with established practices of nutritional and environmental medicine. She is passionate about sharing her in-depth knowledge on the interconnectedness of human metabolism, biology, and behaviour. Dr. Yeoh dedicates her practice to working with patients with complex chronic conditions, neuro-immune mediated, or chronic inflammatory illness. Christabelle graduated from medicine at the University of London in 1999 and obtained her membership with the Royal College of Physicians (UK). She has a Masters degree in Nutrition from King’s College London. After practicing hospital medicine, she has been working as a general physician with an interest in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. She was a director (2014-2021) and president (2016- 2018) at ACNEM and is active on the teaching faculty.

Dr. Michelle Woolhouse

Dr. Michelle Woolhouse is a doctor, mind-body medicine expert, keynote speaker, Founding Medical Director of health tech start-up Vively, Fx Medicine ambassador and Podcast host and Author of The Wonder Within. She is an expert in mind-body medicine and how by embracing the whole you can change your life, health and relationships. She educates widely in the areas of whole person health including mental health issues, such as anxiety, stress and burn-out, psycho-neuro-immunology and women’s hormones. Dr Michelle has advanced post-graduate training in mind-body medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, nutritional and environmental medicine and holds fellowships with the Royal Australian College of GP’s (FRACGP), the Australasian society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (FACNEM). She is in high demand and consults widely due to her unique way of bringing the science and the human together.

Dr. Nicole Nelson

Nicole is a medical doctor with a background in pharmacy and general practice. She has attended nutrient & herbal seminars for over 20 years and in 2011 began to formalise her education in nutritional and environmental medicine doing courses with ACNEM, Biobalance, AIMA and various online courses. She has completed a bachelor's degree in pharmacy at Sydney University majoring in toxicology and worked as a hospital pharmacist before studying medicine at the University of Queensland. Nicole and her family live on the Sunshine Coast. Nicole has a long-standing interest in diet, lifestyle and nutrients and how these three key components can prevent and treat so many common illnesses we face. As a medical doctor, she sees that most of her patients' illnesses including herself and her family, can be linked to diet, lifestyle choices and nutrient deficiencies. 

Dr. Sanjeev Sharma

Dr. Sanjeev Sharma MBBS, MD(Psychiatry), Fellow Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist (FRANZCP), Fellow Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (FACNEM), Masters in Clinical Nutrition (SAHAMM, Malaysia) & Fellow of Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine (FAChAM). He works as Consultant Psychiatrist in Perth, Australia with interest in treating substance use disorder. He has been in Perth since 2002 and now in Private practice in Abbotsford Private and Marian Centre. He completed his post-graduate training from Northern India and before moving to Australia, he worked in National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (NIMHANS) Bangalore which is one of the premier Indian institute in the field of neurosciences. He has interest in incorporating nutritional strategies in management of Psychiatric disorders and completed Fellowship of Australian College of Nutrition and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) in 2022. In addition, he has recently completed Fellowship of Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Cristina Beer

Dr. Cris is an integrative medical doctor, author, corporate speaker, and media doctor. As an expert in integrative medicine Dr. Cris specialises not just in treatment of illnesses, but in the attaining of optimum health. She has particular interests in preventative health, lifestyle medicine, hormone health, weight loss, fatigue and sleep problems, digestive issues, as well as women’s health. She was also the health consultant for The Biggest Loser retreat. Dr. Cris has worked closely alongside Griffith University’s School of Nutrition & Dietetics by being involved in joint research projects focusing on improving nutrition knowledge and delivery of general practitioners for chronic diseases. Dr. Cris’ passion for health and wellness extends beyond the consulting room also. She is an author of the books Healthy Habits, 52 ways to better health, and Healthy Liver and Your Best Year Ahead; small easy steps to wellness. She regularly contributes to body+soul as part of their expert team as well as The Daily Telegraph and other print and online publications. She has appeared on Studio 10, The Daily Edition, and SBS Insight. 

Jules Galloway

Jules Galloway is a straight-talking naturopath, speaker, mentor and podcaster. With over 18 years of industry experience, Jules has made it her mission to help people recover from fatigue, anxiety, burnout and complex health issues. She’s guided thousands back to health through her eCourses, eBooks and podcast. She also sees clients 1:1 via Zoom.  As a mentor, she is passionate about inspiring and guiding the next generation of new and emerging practitioners to show up online and become confident in speaking out. Her dream is for ALL practitioners to be able to create a wildly successful and rewarding business that they love… without burning out, and for our industry to be one that embraces collaboration and connection rather than competition.

Daniel Baden

Naturopath, Podcaster
Daniel Baden is a Naturopath and Homeopath with over 35 years of experience. Having begun the journey as a clinician, he has assumed many roles over the years including consultant to and member of industry regulatory committees, providing technical support to practitioners, assisting various groups in research projects, international and local speaker, author, founder of Traditional medicine supplies, Phytocare and co-founder of Optimal Rx and BioMedica Nutraceuticals. His most recent role was board member of Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA).He has worked on advisory committees at various Australian educational institutions and internationally at Hong Kong University and Dubai Nutrition College.Throughout his career Daniel has focused on the importance of professional holistic healthcare.

Winston Lo

Winston Lo was born in Borneo and came to Australia at age 19. He obtained a bachelor's in pharmacy in 1998 at the University of Sydney and since 2000, he has operated and owned 6 pharmacies in New South Wales. His areas of special interests include providing a high level of tailor-made medicines (providing solutions to customers where commercially available products are not suitable) and focusing on products that are natural or organic to provide alternative choices to customers in addition to the common mainstream products. His grandfather was a Chinese herbalist, and he has memories of his mother sending him into the jungle finding certain leaves and herbs for making medicines. He believes this has given him a strong interest in alternative medicine. He also has qualifications in herbal and botanic medicine from Southern Cross University and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from University of Wollongong. By having continual improvement and research & development, as well as engagement with the community and healthcare professionals, has enabled him to consistently deliver, best practice and innovative service and products. He believes the level of health and wellbeing goes hand in hand with the quality of life you experience.   

Gabriela Stilita

Gabriela wears many hats: a vegan, a feminist, a published author, a DIYer, a mother, a workshop presenter, an avid student, a Clinical Psychologist, and a Board Approved Supervisor. Gaby has 15 years of experience in various settings overseas and in Australia. Recently, she has decided to incorporate her values and long-standing concerns about climate change into her professional life. Since she finished a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Health, Gabriela is currently a candidate for the Master of Public Health at UQ, focusing on the interaction between climate change and mental health. In 2020, Gabriela created Second Chance Psychology, a private practice focusing on our mental health whilst also caring for the environment.  

Peter Webb

Peter is an Integrative Psychologist at the National Institute of Integrative Medicine in Melbourne where he sees patients with complex psycho-soma issues. He is also an Organisational Psychologist called on for leadership development, strategy consulting, team effectiveness, and executive coaching. Peter is the author of System 3 Thinking: How to Choose Wisely when facing Doubt, Dilemma, or Disruption. Peter is an AHPRA endorsed psychologist, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a naturopathic practitioner with membership of ATMS. Dr. Adrian Lopresti

Dr. Adrian Lopresti is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice, managing director at Clinical Research Australia, and an adjunct senior lecturer at Murdoch University, Western Australia. He has 25 years of clinical experience working with children and adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions. Dr. Lopresti has experience in using several psychological therapies and has received extensive training in nutritional and lifestyle treatments for mental health disorders. Dr. Lopresti regularly publishes in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals and has completed several clinical trials investigating the effects of ingredients such as curcumin, saffron, ashwagandha, bacopa monnieri, echinacea, probiotics, and holy basil on anxiety, depression, insomnia, cognitive decline, osteoarthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, and general wellbeing in children and adults. Dr. Lopresti is also the founder of Personalised Integrative Therapy, a holistic treatment for depression and anxiety, and regularly conducts workshops both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Jen Graham-Taylor

Jen Graham-Taylor is a GP in Albany, Western Australia. Jen has a passion for all aspects of lifestyle-related and preventative medicine, and is a founder and Director at South Coast Sports Medicine, a multidisciplinary clinic which aims to help its clients achieve optimal physical and mental health and performance at any age or level of activity. The team at SCSM take a team-based approach to preventative care and self-management of sporting and workplace injuries as well as chronic physical and mental health issues. Jen has postgraduate qualifications in Sports Medicine and Occupational Medicine, extensive training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and long-term member of ACNEM. She consults at SCSM and the Albany Hospital Emergency Department, and teaches at the Rural Clinical School WA.

Tania de Jong AM

Tania de Jong (pronounced Yong) AM is one of Australia’s most successful female entrepreneurs and innovators having developed 6 businesses and 4 charities. Tania works across the public, private, creative and social sectors. She founded Creativity Australia, Creative Universe, MTA Entertainment & Events and The Song Room and works with disadvantaged communities through Creativity Australia’s ‘With One Voice’ choir social inclusion programs. She was inducted into the AGSE Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame at Swinburne University and named Brainlink Woman of Achievement.  Tania was named in the 100 Women of Influence and the 100 Australian Most Influential Entrepreneurs and named as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Psychedelics globally in 2021. In 2019 she was honoured with the Award for Meritorious Service to the Community in the Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in June 2008 for service to the Arts as a performer and entrepreneur and through the establishment and development of music and arts enrichment programs for schools and communities. Professor Kylie O’Brien

PhD, MPH, BAppSc(Chin Med), BSc(Optom)
Kylie has had a strong academic career in the fields of Chinese medicine, integrative medicine and since 2018, medicinal cannabis after career changing in 2000 from optometry. She worked for the Victorian Health Department on implementing the Chinese Medicine Act in 2000. She developed the curricula for Australia’s first three master's degrees in Chinese medicine in two universities in the 2000’s and has held senior leadership roles in the university sector, private tertiary education sector and postgraduate medical education sector from 2006-2020. Kylie is an internationally recognised expert in Chinese medicine, integrative medicine and medicinal cannabis, and has published extensively. Her first book was published in the US in 2017 (O’Brien & Sali, A Clinician’s Guide to Integrative Oncology: What You Should Be Talking About with Cancer Patients and Why? US: Springer, 2017). Her new book, O’Brien & Blair, Medicinal Cannabis and CBD in Mental Healthcare, US: Springer 2021 was released in 2021. Kylie has been leading doctor education in medicinal cannabis in Australia, with her courses receiving continuing professional development accreditation in 2018-2020 from the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners. She also set up the pathway via the National Institute of Integrative Medicine ethics committee for doctors to apply to become authorised prescribers of medicinal cannabis under the TGA’s Authorised Prescriber Scheme. Kylie is involved in research into hemp and medicinal cannabis and is actively working to effect change in regulations around cannabis access in Australia. She is a member of the Australian Government’s Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) Expert Panel, an Adjunct Professor at Torrens University and an Adjunct Fellow of the NICM Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University.

Vanita Dahia

Vanita Dahia is an internationally-recognized integrative medicine expert and author. Her career has been guided by balancing body chemistries in mental health and chronic complex health conditions. Vanita is in the vanguard of neurochemistry research which has led to the publication of Alchemy of the Mind and Alchemy of Amino Acids books with online masterclasses. Vanita’s research explores previously uncharted territory of compounding pharmacy with evidence based natural medicine and is a prodigious innovator in targeted therapy with many patients and health practitioners under her tutelage. Her years of exposure to ethnic and traditional practices, customs, medicines together with her nerdy chemistry and scientific mind has culminated in bringing forth practical solutions to managing the mind and body naturally.

Mark Grant

MA
Mark Grant is an Australian clinical psychologist with 30 years’ experience treating out-patients of multi-disciplinary medical practices presenting with a wide variety of physical and mental health complaints. Mark was an early adopter of EMDR as an efficient method for catalyzing the healing resources of the human nervous system but soon recognized that the frequency with which chronic pain was associated with complex trauma demanded a more comprehensive approach. This led him to integrate EMDR with somatic approaches and hypnosis (including ego state work). He has authored several research papers, a treatment manual ‘Pain Control with EMDR’ a self-help book ‘Change Your Brain Change Your Pain’ and the ‘Healing Trauma’ app series. His Anxiety Release app stimulated the first published account of self-use of an app to resolve chronic pain. He is often invited to speak at conferences and seminars. He was the chairman of the EMDR Association of Australia from 2000 – 2008. He is an EMDR consultant. He is a member of the ISTSS and the Australian Society of Hypnosis. He maintains an active private practice in Melbourne Australia.

Sage King is a Naturopath and Nutritionist specialising in reproductive health, fertility & IVF support, & perinatal care that is proudly inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community. Within her practice, Sage also supports the LGBTQIA+ community with fertility preservation & complementary support alongside gender affirming care. Sage is passionate about creating safe spaces for all. She advocates for the recognition and inclusivity of the LGBTQIA+ community in all healthcare spaces by educating practitioners on how to navigate this space with confidence. As a mentor, Sage assists practitioners to comprehensively support their LGBTQIA+ patients and is available for business consultancy to review website, clinical, and marketing materials.

Dr. Nicole Highet

Dr. Nicole Highet is the Founder and Executive Director of the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE). Nicole has a background in clinical psychology, marketing, campaign development, and advocacy.  Following over thirteen years at Beyond Blue as Deputy CEO, Nicole founded COPE in 2013 in response to the growth and success of Australia’s National Perinatal Depression Initiative (NPDI). COPE has a dedicated focus on the specific issues faced by women, men, partners and their families during pregnancy and the year following birth, in order to reduce the known personal, social and economic costs associated with undiagnosed and untreated perinatal mental health conditions. COPE’s work includes national guideline development and world-leading innovative approaches to e-health promotion and stigma reduction, psycho-education, e-screening platforms, online training, and e-referral pathways via the e-COPE Directory.
