Dr. David Watts

Dr. Watts’ expertise sheds light on the intricate relationship between minerals and mitochondrial function, which holds paramount importance in maintaining cellular health and staving off chronic diseases. Mitochondria, often hailed as cellular powerhouses, heavily rely on an array of essential minerals for optimal functioning. A deficiency in any of these minerals can precipitate severe health conditions, underlining the critical role they play in cellular metabolism.

The lecture delves into the clinical significance of these mineral-mitochondria associations, particularly in mitigating the relentless decay of mitochondrial function. It emphasises the pivotal role of mitochondria in the onset and progression of chronic ailments like insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer, all of which stem from mitochondrial dysfunction or damage.

This webinar will cover:
  • Importance of understanding subclinical deficiencies or excesses in minerals and dietary choices for impacting metabolism and glycolysis
  • Enhancement of clinicians’ grasp on nutritional bio-individuality for improving patient health outcomes at all disease progression stages
  • Elucidation of heavy metals and environmental toxins’ impact on mitochondrial function and the need to mitigate these effects
  • Exploration of the interplay between minerals, antioxidants, ageing, and oxidative diseases for holistic patient care
  • Recognition of metabolic profile adaptations during development and the utilisation of methodologies like Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis for enhanced diagnostics and tailored treatment approaches
